Harassed by Driver

I use a well-known transportation app daily to get to and from the office. As I live in a very busy area with lots of working professionals, often times the same drivers pick me up every day since they wait in the area in the morning for business. One day, I got a weird WhatsApp message from a number I didn’t recognize. Turns out that I had taken the same driver twice without realizing it and he had taken my personal phone number from the app to message me and start a “friendship.” I ignored his messages at first, but when I failed to respond, his messages got more aggressive and assertive. He told me he thought I was beautiful and that he wanted to be the only driver to pick me up. I told him I was busy working and not to bother me, but the messages only increased in frequency and became much creepier. When I left my building to go grab coffee, I saw him waiting there, just hanging out. I told him to leave me alone, but he continued to harass me on WhatsApp. I finally pretended to be my boyfriend on WhatsApp and told him that the “girlfriend” wasn’t interested in talking to him. The driver then got defensive and told the “boyfriend” to back off and that he was entitled to be friends with me. It only ended when the “boyfriend” threatened to take this to the police. I haven’t used the app since, as I’m afraid this driver will be waiting for me outside my building.
